Still the most common type of braces, traditional metal braces are brackets attached to patients’ teeth and held together with an arch wire. Your Hamilton County, FL, orthodontist will place the bracket to a specific spot on your tooth so that when your treatment is complete, the arch wire will appear perfectly straight. The arch wire is attached to the brackets using tiny rubber bands called ligatures. You can choose whatever colors you want, which makes it fun for holidays or special events.
Braces can correct a wide variety of problems, some of which might even be causing speech impediments. Other problems may include crossbites, underbites, overbites, gaps, overcrowding, and more.
Keep in mind when reading this, that each patient is different and so even though something is listed below, you personally may never experience it throughout your entire treatment of braces.
One of the most important things to remember is to brush your teeth often when having braces. There are so many more crevices for food and bacteria to hide.
